Dungeon mechanics
March of the ghouls
This effect stays active for the entire fight:
- At the start of each monster's turn, its allies in melee range gain 2 MP and 150 Power, and are healed for up to around 900 HP.
- When a monster is hit by a spell, it attracts its allies one cell toward itself.
The Groulme Serviss
While in the Ghoul state, the Staff Deleghoul can summon up to two Groulme Serviss. Their behaviour is unpredictable: they usually hit the first reachable target (like the Chaferfu).
- Vol de Mort: the summon hurls itself toward an aligned target, attracts within a 2-cell circle, and applies -70% resistance in a 2-range area around itself for 1 turn. Cast on an ally, the spell gives it 200 Power.
- Sévices de chambre: deals around 300 to 350 Fire damage in melee, steals 45 to 60 Intelligence, and applies -35% resistance for 1 turn.
The Staff Deleghoul can use Volte-Face, which lets it swap places (like the Sacrier spell) with one of its summons, giving it the Invulnerable state for 1 turn.
Recommended strategy
- Kill the Ghoulton and the Ghoulverness first.
- Then keep the Staff Deleghoul away from its summons and reduce its MP.
- Put the boss in the Gravity state to stop it from becoming invulnerable, then get its Groulme Serviss to hit it in order to lower its resistances.
OR
Keep the boss as far away from its summons as possible so it can't reach them in melee. You'll then have to rely on the summons' unreliable AI to go hit the boss, so MP removal on the boss will be necessary. - Take advantage of the resistance penalties to focus your damage on the boss.
Positioning and MP removal classes are particularly effective. (Enutrof, Sadida, Sram, Pandawa, Cra)
The diagram below shows a setup that virtually guarantees victory if you remove the summons' 2 MP every turn and keep the boss in the Gravity state: the boss is in yellow and the two summons in green. This setup can be reproduced in any corner.
